1. When did you start to Paint?
I started painting in my twenties, but mainly as a hobby artist and at that time never really considered the possibility of being a full time artist.
2. What sorts of things do you like to Paint?
There are many things that Sharlene likes to paint. Presently she is really enjoying painting succulents and reptiles but endeavours to paint a wide range of subjects.
3. What artists / works do you like or have influenced your painting?
The impressionistic painters like Monet and Van Gogh influenced her work as she was starting out as a hobby artist. Then later was influenced by New Zealand artist’s Michael Smither and Don Binney.
4. Where do you draw your inspiration from?
A lot of the time it’s from nature. Some of the new techniques she is trying come to her in moments of quiet contemplation or mediation.
5. Does you do commissions?
Sharlene feels that she in the process of training herself how to paint and that her art is still evolving and that commission work is not something she wants to undertake yet.
6. Do you sell prints of your work?
Not yet, but she does endeavour to start selling prints of her work.
